Looking to upgrade your windows for better energy savings, glare control, and indoor comfort? Our Low-E (low emissivity) and tinted glass installation services offer a modern solution that balances natural light with thermal performance. Whether you’re retrofitting an existing home or designing a new energy-efficient building, these glass options help you stay cool, save energy, and protect your interiors—all without compromising your view.
Low-E glass is specially coated to reflect infrared and ultraviolet (UV) rays, while still letting in visible light. This invisible coating helps keep heat inside during winter and outside during summer, significantly improving energy efficiency.
What Is Tinted Glass?
Tinted glass features a subtle color layer (gray, bronze, blue, etc.) to reduce sunlight penetration, glare, and solar heat gain. It’s ideal for homes with large windows or sun-facing exposures where heat and brightness are a concern.
Low-E stands for low-emissivity – this glass has a thin layer of metallic oxides that is applied to the glass surface during manufacturing. It lets light in but reflects infrared energy, which we feel as heat. So you get natural light without the unwanted temperature changes.
In the winter, it reflects the heat back inside, keeping your home cozy. In the summer, it does the opposite, reflecting the sun’s heat away, so your home stays cooler. It’s a smart way to control your home’s climate without overworking your heating and cooling systems. (image courtesy of Energy Education)
